CSNO stands for excellence, honesty and trustworthiness – but just who are the people behind it?
CSNO is the brainchild of several cross-discipline professionals, each looking to make online casino gaming as open, honest and safe to play as it deserves to be.
Hailing from many international climes, professional backgrounds and more, each part of our CSNO family brings something extra to the table – an eye for detail, a passion for words, a flair with UX and design, but most of all, a desire to bring players what they want and need the most – an impartial, open and thorough casino review site.
Founder & Editor-in-Chief
Thomas has a true eye for detail, and has worked for some of the biggest names in the online gaming industry: he spent almost half a decade as a copywriter for William Hill, before moving to Paddy Power-Betfair as the Head of Analytics and Performance for Casino, where he spent almost 9 years looking into player trends, analysing game mechanisms to make them more engaging for players, and researching into casino bonus behaviour.
Thomas holds a MA in Media and Marketing from the Ivy-league University of Pennsylvania.
He is CSNO’s Editor in Chief, and is responsible for overseeing the entire website – from content, to design and beyond.
He says his ultimate aim for CSNO is to ‘bring readers accurate, reliable and well-researched information’.
Chief Compliance Officer
Keeping CSNO compliant (and by extension, CSNO’s players protected!) is Daniel Silver, who has a combined decade of experience in the online casino industry.
He spent almost 6 years at Betfair Casino, consulting on regulatory issues, instructing writers on compliance issues in the online gambling sector, and checking international gaming regulations.
Daniel later moved to Ladbrokes Coral, where he spent almost 4 years as the Senior Compliance Manager. He ensured that the company complied with both local regulations, as well as keeping the entire business compliant across regulations.
He has a Master’s degree in Banking, Corporate, Finance and Securities Law from the University of Cambridge, UK.
Daniel is CSNO’s Chief Compliance Officer, designing company policies to comply with local regulations as well as researching other gambling industry regulations. He also examines existing casino security and data protection measures, flagging up any potential issues.
He says his compliance aims for CSNO are to ‘ensure that casinos are truly safe places for players’
Promotions Specialist
With almost 7 years in the casino industry, Michael has passion for helping ‘other people get more from their money’.
He began his career at Heineken as a Senior Promotions Manager, spending just over 2 years there, ensuring smooth operation of the brand’s offers and promotional campaigns, as well as designing strategies for core European markets.
He later moved to become the casino and games Senior Promotions Manager at bet365, where he spent 5 and a half years. He was responsible for retaining and implementing the promotions calendar across casino products, and producing promotional reports and analysing them. If you ever received a bonus from bet365, it might have come straight from Michael’s mind!
He has a BA in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Oxford, UK.
Michael is CSNO’s Promotions Specialist, where he produces engaging, informative content around casino promotions – with an eye for finding the best deals for our players!
Casino Quality Rater
Our very own Jennifer started out as a Senior Search Quality Rater at Microsoft back in February 2015, contributing to the search algorithm and rating websites, while reviewing manual search penalties. She also researched SEO techniques, identifying loopholes used by webmasters and sealing them. After just over 5 years of this, she decided to move on, joining us at CSNO as our Casino Quality rater.
If you’ve read any of her in-depth reviews, you’ll know that Jennifer conducts really deep research into gambling operators, as well as their casino licensing and regulatory practices.
She holds a BA in Maths from the pristine Peking University in China, and describes herself as an ‘Ex-Bing Search Quality Rater + online gambling professional’.
Design Director
Emmanuela has over 5 years of online casino experience, designing for some of the biggest international brands in the industry.
She worked her way up at Amazon to become its Lead Designer, producing wireframes and high fidelity design mockups, as well as communicating abstract design concepts across different audiences. If you’ve ever browsed on Amazon, then you’ve likely seen Emmanuela’s work!
After almost 3 years, she moved to 888 to become the Head of Design. She’s designed some of 888 brand’s website interfaces and themes. 2 years later she joined CSNO as our sole designer. She is responsible for developing CSNO’s website, graphics and for making everything look great and work flawlessly!
She has a MA in Graphic Design from the Ivy League Rhode Island School of Design, US, and says she ‘believes in striking a balance between clarity and fun in my designs.’
Lead Web Developer
Richard has a range of non-casino experience, as the Lead Software Engineer for SAP back in 2014. He was responsible for migrating the development team to Agile sprints, cutting time to market and improving sign-up rates via UI optimisation.
After 2 and a half years, he moved to Accenture to become its Head of Development. He expanded the site’s functionality across front and backends, developing prototypes and frameworks to suit a range of technical challenges.
After 3 and half years there, he joins us at CSNO as our Lead Web Developer. He is responsible for all of our backend functionality across our development team, as well as designing cool widgets and features to enhance your user experience at CSNO! If you’ve seen our awesome casino filter, you’ve seen his work!
He says he really enjoys ‘the challenges presented in overcoming issues in modern websites, developing the best product possible to overcome these’.
Digital Content Manager
Adam has a solid range of writing experience – starting his career at the Huffington Post as an editorial writer, back in 2015, he learned a thing or two about through research and fact checking! After 2 and a half years, he then moved to Wirecutter to become their Senior Content Writer. He honed his skills of writing high quality, unbiased reviews across various product verticals, working with the research team to produce the best content online (and yes, he admits he may be slightly biased, since Wirecutter was bought and integrated into the NY Times!).
After almost 3 years there, he joined us at CSNO as our Digital Content Manager, if you’ve read any our casino reviews, that’s Adam’s team of freelancers, working across 8 languages to provide you with the best, most detailed and honest content online (and we don’t think he’s wrong there).
Adam holds a BA from the leading London School of Economics and Political Science, UK.
